The first episode could have been worse but I'm damned if I can see how. They threw in every plot device from the whole series in one show. The best acting was done by the CGI. It was excellent, not entertaining but pretty. And what exactly was the point of the new Vulcan's attitude. I'd have enjoyed seeing Uhura draw some green blood.

The first episode debuted with a bang!! Scientifically plausible and understandable and it makes you think about the past and future. Masterpiece!

I love the philosophical lessons. This is what Star Trek is all about. We can’t control tragedy, time, or uncertainty, but we can choose our values and how we respond to them. Even through grief and hardship, we can discover purpose, hope, and a deeper understanding of ourselves. Strange New Worlds reminds us that courage isn’t having all the answers—it’s choosing to move forward anyway. That’s why I love Trek.
