Anya made a character to fit her delusions of being cool, and a show that serves a sole purpose of presenting that narcissistic idea. This story is so basic, but then there’s bursts of mini action scenes that are big and dramatic, overly gross and gory. It’s like the show is trying to hard to be something it’s not. Anya-Taylor-Joy delivers her characteristic ‘I’m an actress acting for you’ performance that makes everything even harder to buy in to. I think I’m going to have to call it quits after these first three episodes. I hope for those that keep watching there’s some crazy insane plot twist that kicks this story in to gear See more JM M @jmmch 1d Great show, we are enjoying it See more Matthew J @mattyj2001 1d Over half the dialog is exposition and is completely unnecessary. It makes the pacing of the show seem really slow when they have a full scene of dialog then basically show you what happens later in the episode. The 40 minute episodes could easily be 20 minutes long and wolud be much, much better if they removed all of the poorly written and conceived dialog. The acting and the story are solid and I'll suffer through the rest of it because I want to know what happens, but not because of any compelling action on the screen or words coming out of the characters' word holes. Part of me wants to just wait until all the episodes drop then watch the last one to see hwo lives and who dies. Lastly, a big problem is that Anya Taylor-Joy and Matthew Rauch have zero chemistry. I don't believe for one second that they were in love. Anya Taylor-Joy is one of the best we've got but even she can't make that relationship believable. See more Read all reviews
