Its insistence on seeing the birth of a nation as a dangerous endeavor requiring persistent, even arduous, generosity proves enchanting. Go to Full Review

The familiar title of Little House on the Prairie may bring lots of viewers to this new version, but I can't say it really resonates, except for the performances of Halsey as Laura and Christie as Edwards. Go to Full Review

It is still a family-friendly story, but one that reframes the juvenilized sales pitch of self-sufficiency with a more honest moral that progress is a force, often a ruthless one, and when it is based on a capitalist lie, it needs an enemy. Go to Full Review

Accurate retelling or not, it is thoroughly engrossing and includes perspectives that were missing from the original Michael Landon series. Go to Full Review

A good viewing for those fans of the book, but doesn't really offers much to new audiences, besides historical curiosity [Full review in Spanish] Go to Full Review

The result is an undeniably heartfelt family drama that, for all its coming-of-age anxieties and sweeping vistas, also dares to ask some difficult questions about the true price of progress. Go to Full Review

Per S @RT83737705 2h At least the wardrobe collection is impressive, and clean. So much for realism and a credible cast. Recommend the books or rewatching the old series. See more Jon S @Stude4art 2h I LOVE IT! it's more historically accurate! See more Matt D @MATTEO1958 1d I loved the original series and was skeptical about this new reboot. I have to say I LOVED this version. I think fans of the original series need to try to avoid comparing the two shows and just take the ride with this new version and appreciate it for its own merits. The story of the Ingalls' time in Kansas was compelling, the mix of characters was interesting, and the historical elements of what happened with the Osage are worth learning about. "New Pa" is NOT Michael Landon; no one could replace him. But Luke Bracey is a strong, quiet version of Charles that I found appealing, and Alice Halsey knocks it out of the park as "New Laura". The Mary and Caroline characters were a little hard to take early on, but I grew to really like them by the season's end. And Mr. Edwards is the best! Give it a try, and keep an open mind, Bring on Season 2, please! See more Laura G @RT05071193 3d This is Virgin River on the Prairie. Im PLEADING with the networks and streaming services...please do a complete series true to the books and/or a biopic on Laura's life. This is drivel. One star for the music, which is nice. See more James S @JimmytheTeacher 3d Great writing and great acting make this a fresh take on the old classic. New challenges and scenarios make for good entertainment. Laura is way cool and carries the show. See more john V @RT00873608 4d Loved it. Can’t wait for Season 2 in Walnut Grove. See more Read all reviews
