The movie was fantastic. I have seen it numerous times at home on the small screen but to see it on a huge screen in a theater is how a movie is meant to be seen! Great experience. Only one complaint: the server was HORRIBLE! It took him 30 minutes into the movie to bring my husband his drink and popcorn. and this was after a number of times stopping him and asking him about this order. Others came later than I did and placed their orders while in the theater. My husband and I placed our orders when we showed our QR code. The server was snarky, horrible, unhelpful and deliberately holding up our order as other late movie goers were receiving their orders before ours.

Simply a very well-made sequel to a masterful movie. Michael and Vito's stories intertwine cleverly, but it feels like Coppola and Puzo are making what they can with the leftovers of Puzo's novel not adapted in the first film (Vito's story). The performances are great, the script, for the most part, is great, the cinematography is great. It is too long, sometimes meandering: an argument I surprisingly didn't hold with the first film. I don't like to put them in direct comparison with each other, because they are different films with different directions, but I have to say that I personally do not agree with the statement that this film surpasses the first, or that it is more thematically complex/mature or complex at all from the first film. It seems a lot of compliments towards this film, most deserved in great respect, seem to go towards the detriment of its predecessor---but that is rather separate from my review.
