Berlin — a city-state on the brink. Crime shapes everyday life in a world destroyed by climate change. While a privileged few live beneath a fully climate-controlled dome, the rest of the city sinks into corruption and violence. The sisters Bea and Phoebe were separated as children by a twist of fate. Bea, chronically ill, grows up sheltered with her adoptive mother, while Phoebe fights for survival on the streets of Berlin. When their worlds collide again on the eve of pivotal elections, they uncover a terrifying truth: Vampires control organized crime and are determined to seize political power. Blood has become the city's true currency. Caught between rival forces, Bea and Phoebe must confront the ultimate question: Who poses the greater threat — humans or vampires?

Benjamin B @RT41647053 5 hrs ago The creators did not choose a good title, since "City of blood" suggests a B-movie horror like experience. The series, however, presents a smartly intertwined story of political elections in a dystopian Berlin, a city harshly marked by the divergence between poor and rich, and links it to climate change and - sounds crazy - vampires. The actal stunt of the series is to combine all of this into a credible story and finds a nice pace to reveal the connections in form of the investigations made by two sisters. The pluses are hence the catchy story, the convincing arguments, and the stunning sets and visuals of dystopian Berlin (quality-wise not so far away from Andor). While some side acts deliver very credible performances (Lawal, Zeno), the main characters (especially the sisters) remain flat due to the poor performances of the actors. Also the series lacks more real horror elements. It is actually more a mystery series than a horror series. But definitely recommend to watch it! See more Read all reviews
