Unfortunately, that is absolutely not the case; it is a tissue of fabrications rather than reality. Sadly, the director handled it so poorly that this flaw is glaringly obvious within the film itself: after all, if the protagonist doesn't survive, who would be there to tell the story? I hate it when they claim something is based on a true story just as a marketing ploy; most fans certainly won't be tuning in for the next planned *Wolf Creek* installment.
