A jornalista Marie Jouvet inicia então uma busca para descobrir quem foi Jacques Clouseau. Com Peter Sellers já falecido, o filme tenta homenageá-lo usando cenas inéditas e reaproveitadas dos longas anteriores. Porém, o resultado parece mais uma tentativa de explorar ao máximo seu talento do que uma homenagem genuína. A obra se torna um "Frankenstein": começa com um novo roubo, mas logo se transforma em um quase falso documentário, com personagens antigos dando depoimentos, como David Niven, Capucine e Graham Stark. As cenas com Sellers continuam engraçadas e algumas são clássicas, como a perseguição de carros do primeiro filme. Ainda assim, teria sido mais honesto produzir um documentário sobre Sellers e sua relação com a franquia, em vez desse "melhores momentos" disfarçado, encerrado com um final ridículo. I could see doing this if the previously unseen outtakes and deleted scenes from the other movies used here were so earth shatteringly good that constructing a flimsy narrative around them would be worth it. Unfortunately they range from "meh" to "fine" at best. The result is a shameless cash grab. If the intent was really to honor Sellers with this movie they failed miserably. See more Aug 28, 2021 Victor Frankenstein's monster was never as hideous as this. This movie called itself a tribute to Peter Sellers, but it was really an insult, as Sellers would never have allowed old footage of himself to be used in new movies. Yet this movie not only includes highlight scenes culled from prior Pink Panther movies, but unused footage that should have stayed unused. Add a thin story about the disappearance of Clouseau and a lot of mostly poorly-acted new material (though the scene where Dreyfus tries to keep from showing joy at the prospect of Clouseau's disappearing for good was the movie's only funny part), and that is exactly what this movie is. No exaggeration. Blake Edwards may have disliked Peter Sellers, and may have had good reason, but that didn't justify his obvious grave-robbing here. See more Jun 24, 2021 A pointless clip show.
