In this lively animated adventure, undersea oddball SpongeBob SquarePants and his starfish friend, Patrick, embark on a quest to clear the name of Mr. Krabs, the owner of the Krusty Krab restaurant, who has been framed for stealing the crown of ocean deity King Neptune. Leaving the familiar confines of Bikini Bottom, SpongeBob and Patrick venture out towards Shell City, where they hope to find Neptune's crown, but numerous obstacles stand (or float) in their way.

As a TV series, Spongebob has proven to be quite entertaining in 30-minute doses. Stretching the running time to 90 minutes doesnt help raise the level of appreciation, though.

The questions that the religious right needs to ask are how and why they ever confused homosexuality with pedophilia. Not only does blurring this issue do gays a disservice, it lets SpongeBob get away with murder.

A funny movie that didn't reduce the show's original essence. The story was pretty good, and surprisingly, other actors did voice-over roles, such as Scarlet Johansson and Alec Baldwin. I was laughing throughout, especially during the brawl scene, for something like the Gooby Goober song. The movie also conveys the message that there is nothing wrong with being a kid or who you are. SpongeBob was more serious in this one, with a clear dream of becoming a manager and a sharp reaction when he found out he didn't get it. I would have liked a little more involvement from Krabs and Squidward.

Bob Esponja: O Filme foi uma experiência excelente para mim. O carisma e o bom coração do Bob me conquistaram, enquanto o humor conseguiu me arrancar muitas risadas. As cores vibrantes deixaram a animação ainda mais divertida, e o ritmo me prendeu do começo ao fim. O que mais me marcou foi a mensagem de nunca impor limites a nós mesmos só porque alguém duvida da nossa capacidade. Um filme excelente que entrou para minha lista de favoritos.
