The creature is more of a metaphor (for lady's sickness) than anything else pretty usless but would be a more straightforward movie without it. I think it was a swing and a miss. Creepy not in a good way. Not even sure it was worth the watch but the acting was good but just in general a pointless movie. It would have been stronger without that, and if it had spent that time on more flashbacks and maybe built a background where the mother, even before the tragedy, wasn't right. I liked the ending. However, I feel like Jonathan's character, at the end, as an ex-detective, shouldn't have been that dumb. The ending could have still been the same, without him acting so stupid once he pulled the gun out. But it throws too much together without developing enough of it. The horror rarely got under my skin, the twists felt predictable, and the whole thing became more messy than unsettling. Otherwise unsatisfying throughout, not scary, cheap special effects, felt like a low-budget TV movie. Dialogues and twists were lazy. Good actors. However, this movie feels like the script was not reviewed before use and there were so many nonsense choices. I enjoyed seeing Jonathan Rhys-Meyers on screen again, but still feel like I wasted 1 hour and 40 minutes. The movie being Horror should not mean less effort. Thank you, but no thank you.
