Looking to mine for gold, greedy industrialist Bartholomew Bogue seizes control of the Old West town of Rose Creek. With their lives in jeopardy, Emma Cullen and other desperate residents turn to bounty hunter Sam Chisolm for help. Chisolm recruits an eclectic group of gunslingers to take on Bogue and his ruthless henchmen. As things build toward the long, bloody and by-the-numbers (if ably staged) showdown, it's hard not to mourn for the film this could have been, considering the assemblage of talent.

The gun battles are well choreographed. And the inclusion of ethnic men- an Asian man, a First Nations man and a Mexican man is brilliant casting. And a woman gunslinger to boot. Now that is fine. Denzel Chris Pratt Ethan Hawke Vincent D'Onofrio Hot damn, they're perfect mercenaries. And the dénouement is quite brilliant and realistic. Not all of the seven come out unscathed. Big waste of actor Matt Bowman. I would have liked him to have a greater say in the film. The writing is quite brilliant and funny at times. The religion was a bit hard to take as today most of us are secular. Interesting how many of the good guy gunslingers were also non-religious. So. Add it all up and I say enjoy it as I did.
