Recent MIT grad Matt Franklin (Topher Grace) should be well on his way to a successful career at a Fortune 500 company, but instead, he rebels against maturity by taking a job at a video store. Matt rethinks his position when his unrequited high-school crush, Tori (Teresa Palmer), walks in and invites him to an end-of-summer party. This 1980s-set comedy was shot in 2007 and has been sitting on the shelf ever since. The damn thing's so old it's almost retro twice over.

I don’t really like Topher Grace but I love the female lead, she’s drop dead and I forgot her name off the top of my head! Very nostalgic movie for an 80’s baby I loved it! Was funny and good! It is what it is and worth the watch! A nice popcorn movie!

**anyone expecting this to be 'knee slapping funny' is missing what this movie is about. It's about fear of growing up and one night of letting go of that fear to do something memorable. I'm so glad i found this gem around 2010/2011. I remember seeing a music video parody/behind the scenes video posted by Topher Grace/Anna Ferris and cast - they were dressed up in 80s gear (topher dressed as Marty mcfly - which wasnt in the movie so idk what that was from) -- but it caught my attention and after diving into research - found out the title and when it was releasing - it had some distribution delays and i think came out a year later than they planned - but once i saw it-it became one of my comfort movies - one of my go-to's when I'm feeling down, sad, lonely, or sick. This, Space Jam 1996, and Rocketman 1997 i can put on any time of the year either in the background or just to lay with my dogs and reflect on nostalgia and feel good for 2 hours. I'm so glad this film got made.---

Although a bit problematic in this current social climate, this is a really good movie. Especially if you grew up in the 80s, they nailed it. And the soundtrack is a banger.

Not funny. A waste of a good amount of talent. The story is as blah as you expect it to be, with repellent elements added in to make it worse. Imagine if they had someone who could actually write a good script? But they didn't.
