Sydney (Neve Campbell) and tabloid reporter Gale Weathers (Courteney Cox) survived the events of the first Scream, but their nightmare isn't over. When two college students are murdered at a sneak preview of Stab, a movie based on the events from the first film, it's clear a copycat killer is on the loose. Sydney and Gail, as well as fellow survivors Deputy Dewey (David Arquette) and Randy (Jamie Kennedy) have to find out who is behind this new murder spree, before they all end up dead.

Scream 2 does a lot of what the original does, but instead of addressing horror movies in general it addresses horror sequels, this movie has great chase sequences especially the one at the college theater with Gale. This movie also has great kills, gore, and effects. I like how we follow our cast from the original (like we do with every movie after this one) because I really liked the cast from last time and how they acted together and so many horror franchises change up the characters every movie. This movie also introduces a lot of new characters that are really good. I like how we get to see Cotton interact with the others. I like the Ghostface reveals as well as the ending on the stage, even though it does not reach as high of a level as the original did it is still an amazing movie.

For me, although Scream 2 definitely falls short of the original, I just consider this to be a fantastic horror sequel. Its meta-commentary is just as strong as before, this time on sequels, and it expands the scope and size without losing sight of its characters. The mystery is good, even if not as good as before, and this also has a great opening sequence. It’s not as fresh, and some of it wains compared to the original, but in my mind, this is a horror sequel classic.

Great sequel but I'm gonna say if Derek wasn't in it even better. Just saying after being traumatised by Billy seemed a weak choice. All the great characters still there best killer mickey wow

Scream 2 is a great sequel, and I honestly think it’s better then the first movie, Mickey is my favourite Ghostface, and it’s also a very fun movie, my only issue is that cafeteria scene
