OPERATION CRONOS, based on real events, chronicles the relentless pursuit of the terrorists responsible for the horrific Barcelona attacks. With a high-stakes countdown, the film dives into the race against time from the perspective of elite state security forces, as they work tirelessly to capture those behind the tragic events in Las Ramblas on August 17, 2017. On that day a terrorist drove a van into crowds on Barcelona's iconic Las Ramblas, killing 13 people and injuring over 100 in a brutal and deliberate attack. Triggered by the Islamic State (ISIS), the assault was part of a series of coordinated terrorist incidents across Catalonia, including a second attack in Cambrils. In response, local police forces launched a swift and highly effective counter-terrorism operation -- codenamed Operation Cronos -- which became a turning point in the manhunt for those responsible. The bravery and rapid action of law enforcement were key to neutralizing the threat and preventing further tragedy.
