The Klumps are excellent in this one, there are some funny moments and the idea of focusing on the Klumps is an interesting concept. However, the story felt like it was constructed to be a Nutty Professor TV series, some parts were cringe and Janet Jackson's character felt like it was supposed to be Carla, but recast (Jada Pinkett-Smith was pregnant at the time of the film's production, which is why she didn't return.) Overall, its not as bad as everyone makes it out to be, I prefer the 1996 version and the 1963 version over this. Unfortunately, it didn’t really land that way for me. While there are moments that try to be funny and the cast clearly puts in effort, the overall execution feels uneven and more exhausting than entertaining. The humor often leans too heavily on repetition and exaggerated family antics, which might work in small doses but becomes draining over time. Instead of feeling fresh or clever, much of it feels stretched and predictable. It’s not a completely unwatchable movie, but it never really finds the balance between comedy and story that it needed. For me, it ended up being a big step down in quality from what I expected. Overall, I’d rate it a 3/10.
