But come on now, Angelina Jolie doin’ backflips and shooting pistols. Count me in, this and Cradle of Life were really underrated films. This director Simon West did movies that I love like Con Air, Black Hawk Down, The Mechanic, and etc. But, I’ma give Lara Croft: Tomb Raider a 7/10 or a 4.3/5 stars. This movie is so underrated. While the screenplay has uneven pacing and underdeveloped story beats, the film remains entertaining because it understands its purpose: fun escapism. See more Anthony S Sep 12 Big fan of the tomb raider gaming franchise being a 90s kid. This film was probably as good as it got for the movie, but still only a 3/5 for me. So much potential to make good films, but lack of resemblance to the game, lack of puzzles etc to open up new tombs. The filmmakers, I think put too much pressure on themselves to create a storyline movie worthy rather than actually resembling what everyone loves about Lara Croft. See more Oliver J @Ollie1997 Aug 25 A great Action flick. i’m a big fan of tomb raider and i hadn’t seen this movie for years, so upon rewatching it i was pleasantly surprised with how good angelina is as the classic lara croft from 1997-2003, her mannerisms and way she looks and dresses are a spitting image of classic lara, although the story is pretty generic, the action scenes are great and just what you’d expect from a tomb raider film, angelina jolie plays the role perfectly and it’s exactly what you’d imagine classic lara to be film wise, Not just a great movie adaptation of a video game but a great action movie that does the character justice and you can sit back and enjoy.
