I'm not even going to pair this with the original. ugh I want my hours back and my memory erased. This movie should only be shown at 3:00am on reruns. See more Paul S @PManRager 2 days ago It's not the worst movie in the world, but this feels completely detached from the original masterpiece. The story was stale, and the characters felt recycled. The visuals and action sequences in the movie were very well done, but it wasn't enough to make the movie good. This sequel to "Independence Day" was not needed & it led to a train wreck here. Unsurprised that he regretted producing a movie without Will Smith, yet it still put Jeff Goldblum & Bill Pullman reprising their roles. Although it could be expectable since they seemed to have killed off Colonel Steven Hiller (Will Smith was him). The Movie consists of many downgrades. 1 example is the CGI FX, done of all over the world, the aliens & the ships. So bad looking in the real. If those FX were seen in a fully animated movie, they would have looked nicer. Blue Sky Studios could have done anything around there. Also, the green screen seems terrible. Even the hair on Brent Spiner/Dr Brackish Okun looked fake - it was always obvious. The new characters introduced were childish & unlovable, as compared to the past men.
