Haunted by her childhood memories of finding her mother dead, a conflicted Dee (Natasha Henstridge) arrives at a mysterious secluded property looking for answers. Upon checking in, she meets six other weekend guests there for the same reason as herself -- ending their lives with the assistance of the enigmatic host, Abraham (Lukas Hassel). Abraham assures everyone that their deaths will happen under his guidance, cleanly, safely, and most importantly, lovingly. When someone is ready to end their life, they will ring the bell of death outside, gathering everyone for their end. As he states: Life is not for everyone. He informs the guests that they are, of course, free to change their minds and leave if they so choose. When Dee stumbles upon evidence that a fellow guest has mysteriously disappeared, leaving all his things behind, she has the chilling realization that Abraham lied. No one leaves the House alive. A final confrontation between Dee and Abraham leads to a twist that no one can foresee. The future of the House of Abraham is on the line and the stakes are truly life and death.

Though some of its more tear-jerking and thought-provoking moments miss the mark, House of Abraham is a tense, single-location thriller that doesn’t shy away from its bold discussion topics or dark sense of humour.

This movie feels refreshingly different, because it builds the tension through the atmosphere little by little until you’re just hooked on the eerie feeling. Another thing I really loved was the background music. It never felt forced, but instead quietly slipped into the scenes and made the unsettling atmosphere even more effective.

Omg, gagged, the entire plot had me in tension, this was so disturbing, the best psychopath thriller ever! The moment the antagonist joins the cult, everything becomes so captivating in a way that you DO NOT want to leave the screen even for a second. Dee’s psychic escapade is an alongwaiting process craved by the audience so much that somehow you even lose yourself in her actual desires of what she want to do next. The best, loveddd!!

House of Abraham was actually such a good watch. I expected just another creepy thriller but it ended up being way more interesting than I thought. The whole vibe felt unsettling in a good way and it kept me curious the entire time without trying too hard. I liked that it wasn’t all jumpscares and actually had a story that made me think after. Definitely one of those movies that sticks in your head after you finish it.
