This western cuts against the trend of brutality present in so many films of the genre with a story of collaboration and trust among its characters that never forgets the very real dangers lurking in the vast and untamed lands of the American frontier. The documentary-like form delivers moments just as iconic as the most stylized classics of the genre and made on a fraction of the budget of so much Hollywood slop being released these days. Actual independent, self-financed filmmaking that takes big swings. Very excited to see what the team at El Jinete comes up with next! Although the characters are faced with difficult choices, the film is filled with kindness and tenderness. There is also a sense of poetry in the circular movement the movie explores in its final act and epilogue. Beautifully photographed and directed, it is a necessary and deeply political film. See more Harry B @RT52691387 Jun 14, 2026 We thoroughly enjoyed this flick, nice to see a wonderfully written western again instead of watching blood baths, aliens/ghosts & all the other nonsense todays film industry slops all over western screens all because their writers can't seem to dream anymore. Wish they'd bring back the old realistic heartfelt stories of yesteryear mixed with a bit of shoot'm up! As so many others have stated this movie has striking scenery showing what many of our ancestors were so fortunate to view upon their arrival of this beautiful country. I was very fortunate to have a bro who was an owner operator of Semis (Rip bro)We traveled our countrysides, highways & cities for yrs, we ran out west a lot so I was able to gaze upon the most beautiful western skies, Mountains & deserts God made. Anyone traveling out west must visit our Painted Cliffs. Absolutely Stunning, I can honestly say it was the first time I undersood what it meant when they said they were just in awe at the sight of something.
