TheMovieSearch R @TheMovieSearch 1 day ago Curse of Crom: The Legend of Halloween had a lot of potential. There were moments where I actually thought, "Ok, this could be something." The movie had enough promise to make me believe it might eventually deliver a horror story with some thrills and maybe a little comedy. Unfortunately, all of that disappeared the moment the monster was revealed. Once I saw the monster, I was completely thrown out of the movie. Whatever investment I had in the story immediately disappeared because the creature felt completely disconnected. From that point forward, I struggled to take anything seriously, and the movie never recovered for me. I thought this was ultimately a complete disaster. It had the opportunity to become something bigger, more creative, and more entertaining, but instead it fell flat. I was not a fan of this movie at all. By the time it ended, I felt like this should be the end of the road for this story. It became a complete mess from beginning to end. I especially appreciated the “cat burial GoFundMe” joke. Additionally, the film has some pretty solid performances from the cast, which makes it much easier to overlook some of the shoddier aspects of the writing, directing, and casual instances of overreacting. As a straight horror, it’s not frightening. However, as a “horror” with comedic elements, it’s a fantastic treat. See more Read all reviews
