Beckham S @beckhamstephenson 1 day ago Cannibal Mukbang is a film that really grew on me throughout it's duration. It initially starts off pretty rocky; the first twenty minutes have some cheesy lines and flat acting. It's a bit of a dry season in the film but the farther you watch, the more engrossed you get in this movie. I think it succeeds as horror for the fact it is extremely uncomfortable, they mix sexual and horror themes in a way that really messes with me. Cannibal Mukbang opened some interesting moral debates, so much so that the ending was kind of remnant of trolley problems. All in all, digesting this film is definitely not for everyone, going into it, you need to be prepared for a lot of contrast between characters, acting styles, lines in script, it's like an odd collage. Some of the shots are amateur, others absolutely stunning and professional. There's a lot going on. I was a big fan of the small details in the sets, they were intricate and maximalist. Good film on a small budget, would for sure recommend. See more dr. R @Yes123456 1 day ago I'm not going to make this review too in depth as it's sort of a b movie (not in a bad way), and I wanna do another bigger review tonight. Cannibal Mukbang concerns a socially awkward fellow called Mark. He eats too much 7-11, he works a deadend job, and he's constantly outdone by his super playboy international man of mystery brother Maverick. Anyway, he meets this woman, sort of a manic pixie dream girl at first. He soon discovers that she's a cannibal who kills rapists, and films mukbang videos to make money. This movie, despite it's title, is more about predator sting ops than mukbangs. There's also a lot of contrasting between gore and sex. This movie could raise interesting questions about how much sting operations help causes. Not gonna lie, I called the ending though. That was cool. So I said to my friend, I said in all caps, "CALLED IT". And it was really cool because I don't usually do stuff like that, usually I get it wrong. See more Samuel R @RT18377066 Jul 18, 2026 You know, despite some bad scripting and dialogue, and some pretty awful acting on the part of the supporting cast (the 2 leads do an ok job, especially April Consalo) this film was actually pretty watchable and fun. Some scenes, especially dialogue scenes went a bit long but there's so much potential and flashes of brilliance in there, and the director has a nice visual eye as well! He "meets" a strange, attractive girl who makes his heart beat faster almost immediately. But the circumstances of that meeting start raising questions very quickly. A sweet smile can’t hide everything — especially not a traumatic past that keeps leaking through the surface. The more variables enter the protagonist’s life, the faster things spiral out of control. The relationship he was so anxious to protect doesn’t just complicate his life — it completely rewires it and forces him into a hard, unavoidable value choice. At one point, the protagonist says outright that values are what lie at the core of B-movie horror. A well-made horror film isn’t just a collection of shocks; it’s a way of pulling the viewer into another dimension. It’s a thought experiment. Stylish, sexy, and deliberately uncomfortable at times — those are the words I want to end this review with. I hope the film finds a larger audience over time. See more Read all reviews
