Wasted funds Dec 28, 2024 Can’t believe I wasted monry seeing this. Was a terrible movie! See more J C @TherealJ 6 hrs ago Honestly, I think these reviews are kind of harsh. Was it a fantastic movie? No. Was it Citizen Kane? No. Was some of it executed poorly? Yes. We're the characters annoying? Yes. But it's PG-13 how much can they get away with? It was entertaining enough to keep me watching to the end. And I kind of like what they did with the end. Definitely could have been better, definitely had some issues, but also not deserving of the level of hate it's getting. I would go onto it with an open mind and watch it just for the hell of it. Beneath the supernatural premise, it’s really about a lifelong friendship being torn apart by secrets, guilt, trauma, and fear. It touches on addiction, infidelity, sexual assault, suicide, and the fear of coming out, while still keeping the plot moving. The demon works because it weaponizes everything the characters are already hiding from each other. Some back and forth between the characters were annoying. I feel like the ending was set up that way so they can possibly milk more sequels. So very cheesy.
