The expanded scenes give more depth to the characters, especially Sue, adding layers of empathy and moral conflict. While it doesn’t have the stylized flair of the 1976 film, it feels intimate and modernized for its time. The prom sequence still delivers, but what stands out most is the emotional aftermath. It’s a darker, more reflective retelling that deserves more appreciation. Its camp its cvnty.
