A poetic adaptation that understands Poe's atmosphere more than it chases cheap scares. It wasn't clear what the location was, New York or England? SPOILER ALERT. I'm unclear about the ending. Did the female artist continue the curse as it was intimated that she could not step out of the building? It actually was very beautiful...and well-made. Sometimes movies like this one are very dry. This one didn't suffer from that malady...I highly recommend this. See more Tina K @tinaksf Apr 8, 2026 I wasn't sure if I was going to finish the film because it seemed like a pretty straightforward somewhat melodramatic horror film with limited ghost sightings. I did complete it and it was mainly because of the music bed. The music really in my opinion moved the story along. It reminded me of music from the 40s and 50s maybe like the 40s films. It didn't bug me too much that an excessive amount of music was used because it was good music and it helped match the tone/mood of whatever scene it was synched.
