Ultimately, the doc doesn't offer a comprehensive look at the problems Rapa Nui faces today, and it certainly doesn't dig into the complaints Rapu has with some historians' account of how the island became a treeless plain.

Despite its tiny population (under 8000), this island has lessons that the rest of the world needs to take in. It is a laboratory in environmental sustainability that this film portrays vividly.
