The girlfriend stands up and leaves, indicating that ultimately she doesn’t trust the protagonist, but we are not shown what happens when her fraud is revealed. In practical terms, nowadays it is impossible to generate this type of fake medical diagnosis. The results of the MRIs and the biopsy are accessible on line and not just on fabricated paper printouts. However, the film's main purpose is to question the idea of blind validation without looking more into whatever the case is. You can't judge someone without knowing all of the details and that's what this film does. It does not ask its audience to judge Katie and that's what makes it such an interesting character study. A must-see if you're interested in the psychology of human behaviors or if you just love a good story.
