But if you're into psychological suspense/thriller, then you're in the right place. It's a deeply unsettling film that keeps you on edge. It raises a great question: does malice — does being a sociopath — come from birth, or is it shaped by the circumstances a person lives through as a child? To me, this movie makes it clear that some people are simply born with that kind of evil mind. And if no one addresses it in those early years, that hatred and malice quietly learn how to live and interact with society, waiting for the right moment to explode and hurt whoever gets in its way. It's a hard movie to watch, but it explores an important theme — one that makes you think. There's a moment where he says TV has gotten worse than ever, that people watch shows about people like him — sociopaths — instead of stories about how great someone is at geometry (or something along those lines). In this house, we love flawed characters and nonlinear storytelling, and we love suspense over shock value. If you came into this movie to watch a graphic shooting, the Columbine footage is on Internet Archive. If you came into this movie looking for a story, then you’re in luck. Be patient and focus on what’s actually happening and the motifs and why the fk is Kevin wearing too-small clothes all the time, is it really just to reflect poorly on his mother and torture her more or is it a strange display of sexuality, and does he actually need to eat or does he only eat as a method of psychological warfare?
