Immersed in a Southern Gothic context, “Walden” is an interesting take on vigilantism. Go to Full Review

Walden, starring Emile Hirsch, is a mishmash of tones that doesn't work as a thriller, but the film's unexpected quirks keep it watchable. Go to Full Review

L.L 11/19/2023 It was great! Emile Hirsch is such a great actor. He had the best lines and was great at delivering. I highly recommend watching it. See more Dave K @BilboBagsy Jul 14 One thing that really stands out about this film is the performance of Emile Hirsch. His layered portrayal as a seemingly meek and feeble court stenographer, that eventually snaps and goes on a gleeful murder vigilante spree, is a uniquely bizarre and compelling performance that you can't help but be captured by. You have to appreciate his bold approach to the character. It is an isolated, lonely and socially awkward individual that really makes you feel safe. It’s a great juxtaposition to later scenes where he can be found manically enacting his own brand of horrific violence. Hirsch’s ability to play both elements of these personalities is fun to watch and his execution makes him stand out above all others. It’s sort of a cross between Sheldon Cooper and Dexter. I found the pacing and the writing let the film down a bit. There are a fair amount of missed opportunities to develop supporting roles and at times the pacing felt too fast. 6 / 10 See more Briana I. @Anaire Apr 26 Very interesting and very good movie. I loved Waldens character on all levels and wish they made a second. The ending seems unfinished. See more Dean S. @DeanDFW Mar 14 Interesting characters but the story feels disjointed. Honestly it feels like the first episode of a series that’s never going to get made! See more jacehtc01 T @RT58231103 05/02/2025 Great acting by everyone, movie storyline was good, but it would have been better as an episode of some tv show. The romance side was completely disconnected and superfluous from the main plot, so that part felt like a waste of time.
