Hats off to McDowell, Lewis & Kirk. See more Blu B 10/22/2024 It would work so much better if it was well....consistently funny rather than once every 7-8 jokes. The premise is clever and has lots of potential for a dark comedy with commentary about age and trends through different time periods especially with "The more things change the more they stay the same" wih a Rom-Com Hororr twist. However this has so much working against it. This has such low amatuer production value and looks like a Disney Channel movie. The lighting is so amatuer and it's shocking giving the all star cast this has behind it. The jokes just fall very flat and honestly some of the comedic delivery is kind of off too. It's kind of all surface level stuff and if it is clever it usually just isn't delivered that funny. The direction is pretty basic stuff also but I'm willing to cut that a bit of slack giventhe clear budget constraints. The music is also very forgettable and not used much half the time. The other big issue is Goody & Stacy's stories really diverg after we meet them even though they're roommates and it ends up feeling very jumpy cutting between the two. It also can't quite figure out how to mix the Dracula/Vampire cliche material with the Rom-Com elements on top of making it funny. Everything overall is pretty medicore here which is a miracle given how many missfires there are here. It's a testament to how strong an underlying idea this is. This really should be revisited by a director like James Gunn or someone who has good comedic touch. Most could skip this though. See more Catherine R @Catherine93 08/21/2024 I'm only giving it a 4 out if 5 bc I didn't like the rats. I don't like mice or rats or any rodent species. But I love Alicia Silverstone and Krysten Ritter and of course Sigourney Weaver. She killed it as a villain. And the guy who "Inconceivable" in the Princess Bride, he was awesome too. I love how Goody got to see her past before she, well, ppassed. I love how Stacy was so confident in her undead skin and how she and Goody managed to live their lives among the "day players" as they're called in the film. So cute and so wholesome.
