Jamie Blanks' Valentine has aged rather well. A movie I didn't care for at the time of its release, I now see a lot more of merit in this slasher than I did back in 2001.

In the new teen slasher flick Valentine, a public-school nerd, now grown up, seeks to systematically murder all the girls who wouldn't dance with him at the Grade 6 Valentine's dance. Or maybe that's not what happens. It s hard to tell.

Valentine is a rough movie, but I wouldn’t go as far as calling it an awful film. It’s definitely not as terrible as some people make it out to be. Is it great? Absolutely not. But it’s an entertaining movie for what it is. It’s a whodunit-style horror thriller centered around Cupid killing people, and the idea is supposed to keep you guessing about who the killer is. The problem is that the movie doesn’t really hide the answer very well. You can figure out who the killer is fairly quickly because the screenplay doesn’t create enough uncertainty to keep you playing the guessing game. That’s where the movie loses some of its suspense. Unlike Scream, which constantly makes you question who could be behind the mask, Valentine feels like it already has the answer sitting right in front of you. That takes away some of the mystery and makes the story less engaging than it could have been. Still, I don’t think Valentine is a terrible film. It’s fun for what it is

This horror movie was terrible. Marley Shelton, David Boreanaz, Denise Richards, Jessica Capshaw, Jessica Cauffiel, Katharine Heigl, and the rest of the cast did a terrible job in this movie. The plot of the movie was tedious and ridiculous. It's just a revenge movie about a guy who was bullied in junior high and going after the women who teased and humiliated him. If you haven't seen this movie yet, don't waste your time. It's not worth it.
