Adrian is an avant-garde music composer whose poorly attended concerts contrast wildly with his brother Josh's great success as a commercial artist. Adrian's luck appears to change when Josh introduces him to Madeleine, an art dealer who sells Josh's work. The two begin a torrid affair, but when Josh learns about the relationship and Madeleine stops exhibiting his artwork, the stage is set for a showdown between siblings.

The characters...are wrapped up in their own perceptions of their greatness and are an odious lot. This is fitting for the film but leaves the viewer without a character to like.

A bit old fashioned. We did such things in Aix en Provence 50 years ago. Artists must have freedom, even if we "like it" or not. I left though, first to Oslo, to do yoga. Then to Greece to paint, in Hydra island. Plenty of people have said that the painting is dead. Not so. The only character I like is Punch. Find her as fabulous as Tilda Swinton, and Stina Ekblad. There's a strong feeling of frustration, and the auntie's beach gallery doesn't help. So I hope to see Lucy in a more inspiring film very soon!
