So this film came out during a time when I grew up (mid-2010’s) and there was a time that found footage films ruled the world Like almost every year there was a new paranormal activity film, and I appreciate what this film does, it takes the supernatural horror of paranormal activity and puts it into a site that used to be popular during the time of its release, while not perfect it does give you a lot of edge of your seat tension like it did for me. And the scares were actually well done, but the cons of this is that being in the Skype website for the entire duration of the film can make you feel uncomfortable for the viewer, and while the film revolves around Laura’s passing I find it to be very distressing in my opinion and I like the idea of a ghost actually causing the passing of each character and made it look like they did it to them selves. And I gotta say the music when people join in was nostalgia right there, Overall, not perfect but pretty ok. 7.1/10 See more Rowan C @RowanC3 Sep 8, 2026 Unfriended is a unique type of horror movie, and it was done all over a video call. I found this movie to be very eerie, and getting a text from a girl who isn't alive anymore would certainly be freaky. I liked how they were able to make this movie work, simply by showing a computer screen the entire time. Was this movie great? No, but I simply enjoyed watching this film. Laura Barnes was bullied severely, which led her to end her life and come back as a spirit to get revenge on those who did her wrong. She exposed this group of friends, turned them against each other, and then proceeded to murder all of them. During this movie, she kept texting certain things, and a lot of these messages made my stomach drop. I just imagine how creepy this interaction would be with a spirit, and this is what tuned me more into the movie. The cast did an ok job making this experience believable, and they made it entertaining. Overall, this was not a perfect movie, but I still enjoyed watching it. It’s so good! Very underrated found footage/screen life teen horror film. Was very suspenseful and unique. The six characters were terrible people and got what they deserved. So much tension and amazing acting. One of the few horror films where the victims had it coming. The antagonist was a supernatural entity of a dead bullied girl who was driven to suicide by the six characters. The end results were satisfying as the ghost gave them all a taste of their own medicine and even making them turn on each other by forcing them to reveal dirty secrets and confessions to each other that brought a lot of turmoil among them before their deaths. The one horror movie where you root for the antagonist especially the longer the movie goes on making you understand those teenage jerks were not only cruel to her but even to each other. The worst character is the final girl who turned out be the antagonist’s ex-friend who betrayed her.
