Critics Consensus

UHF is bizarre, freewheeling, and spotty, though its anarchic spirit cannot be denied.

It is entertaining and funny enough to ensure the video satirist an encore performance as a small-town bungler named George Newman. Go to Full Review

It's agreeably goofy, and it feels like something anyone could do, even if that's not the case. Go to Full Review

This is the dreariest comedy in many a month, a depressing slog through recycled comic formulas. Go to Full Review

The film largely works because of Yankovic’s personality and because of the parodies. Go to Full Review

Brody F @Brody_Wan_Kenobi 16h This movie combines classic Weird Al fun with a genuinely good story. The film switches from the main story to brief TV satire segments, but it all feels natural and never confusing. Also this movie’s soundtrack is great. The characters are funny and likable like George, Bob, Pam, and of course Stanley Spadowski. This movie is truly an underrated hidden gem. Essential for any Weird Al Yankovic fan. I will definitely watch again, this time I won’t forget to make myself a Twinkie Weiner Sandwich. See more MC R @RT91491190 6d It's a shame I never seen this movie before. But then I saw on Weird Al Yankovic Instagram celebrating his 37th anniversary and though let's watch this! It's a really funny and hilarious movie. The Indiana Jones and Rambo bits were super funny! I really had great time watching it! I love Weird Al Yankovic. Loved his parody "biopic". I hope their will be new parody songs from the last decade. Exept the Hamilton Polka their was not a lot of new music. So I hope he will do new parodies. See more dustination P @dustination Jul 21 It's a silly spoof film. It's one of those movies where you just need to turn your brain off and accept that it won't be a well-written or realistic story. "Weird" Al does a good job of carrying the lead, but honestly Michael Richards really shined in this. I know people have understandably mixed feelings about him now, but you can really see how his physical comedy skills would lead to him becoming one of the most memorable sitcom characters of all-time. There are several parodies of many popular movies and TV shows of that time period. If you are old enough to understand those references, you'll probably enjoy this. Just keep your expectations in check. See more Nick H @Nkhhn Jul 16 It’s a ‘Weird Al’ movie. What you see is what you get. And there’s nothing wrong with that. See more MariofanAlex445 T @RT47678067 Jul 12 Pretty darn good. Weird Al is actually a much better actor than I expected. I have to give this one a 4/5 stars. It also helps that the plot of this film was my dream at one point lol. See more Tom F @RT55173143 Jul 7 Some big laughs here, but mostly an unstructured mess. See more Read all reviews
