Josh L @Darkjinrou Sep 17, 2026 It's not a great movie, sure, but it's not a bad movie either. Sadly sometimes critics can be overly critical, but it is what it is. If you liked the short story, this movie is a decent adaptation of that, regardless of how it was released. Maximum overdrive did a bit worse than this one, but I feel this is the better of the two movies, and not because Stephen King directed Maximum Overdirve. I just feel "Trucks" capture the essence of what King's short story was about better than Maximum Overdrive. A potentially doable plot here, just horribly written as a film adaptation with less than convincing actors, with the exception of Brenda Bakke, whose acting capabilities really couldn't be appreciated here for a "vehicle " of this calibre!
