Uthaug is a confident entertainer-craftsman who sells the script’s occasionally groan-worthy clichés with humor and smart pacing. There’s plenty of visual stimulus, both scenic and fantastical. Go to Full Review

The characterisation is token, and the quip embellishment is weak. Norse mythology is an atypical starting point for monster movies, but deploying it as rotely as this, the film has little chance of standing out from the mockbuster wallpaper. Go to Full Review

‘Troll 2,’ a sequel to the crowd-pleasing 2022 Norwegian giant creature feature, doesn’t have nearly enough action, monster-related or otherwise, to justify its existence. Go to Full Review

The special effects again better many a big-budget Hollywood adventure and the damage done by the giant monster is impressive in its scale. Go to Full Review

With emotional and development arcs that are glossed over quickly, to a large lack of adventure, the relational aspects that should hold this story together don’t receive the backing necessary to invest us in the pursuit. Go to Full Review

Giles M @Thundernuckle 5d Loved it just as much as the first one. It's a simple movie thats fun to watch. Don't overthink it, just enjoy it. Great fun. See more Mitchell S @Mitchstur 6d It's every bit as good as the first one, doubling down on the mystery and stellar effects. They even took a huge leap that most sequels don't take (although I'm also sad about it). See more Nader F. @knownasnad 6d 59% I genuinely preferred the first part, although the second attempt slightly reduced the overall incoherence. That said, the script and plot remain fundamentally flawed. If the film were judged without considering its strong directing, its overall score would be extremely low. It is disappointing that a project with such competent direction is undermined by a script that revolves almost entirely around nonsense, offering no clear logic, structure, or meaningful resolution. The main storyline lacks coherence and purpose, leaving the audience with unanswered questions rather than intentional ambiguity. This narrative confusion is further amplified by several directorial choices that are clearly constrained by weak writing. One of the most glaring examples is the unnecessary death of a main character. The film attempts to build emotional weight around this moment, yet the impact fades almost instantly. Instead of resonance, it creates confusion and further exposes the carelessness of the writing, especially given how quickly the story moves on as if the event never occurred. Additionally, the introduction of new characters feels forced and unjustified. Their rapid and shallow development lacks credibility and contributes nothing meaningful to the narrative. Rather than enriching the story, these characters dilute it further. In conclusion, the film suffers from a horrendous script, a deeply flawed plot, and mediocre performances. While the directing shows moments of quality, it is riddled with inconsistencies and ultimately cannot compensate for the fundamental weaknesses in the writing. But poorly done entirely See more ; H @Rumple Jan 15 Omg so good and better than the first! I loved that it had multiple giants monsters (TROLLS) in it. A wonderful film.. it's crazy how we can't get good movies like this here in my country it has to take Norwegian country to make a good movie nowadays! The only thing that would've made it better is if it was in the English language as well. Other than that absolutely fantastic., great job creater. Hope for a 3rd film, like the creater called it a - troll-ology ! Please hurry sequel.. Can't wait. See more Matthew B @MatthewB Jan 4 Good if you like Troll movie sequels! See more Read all reviews
