It was cool to see a modern take on Nordic mythology! The story is interesting how it crosses government drama with fairytales. Plus, the troll looks incredible!!

86% This Norwegian fantasy thriller is an absolute gem. The visual effects are nothing short of stunning, bringing mythical creatures and epic battles to life with jawdropping realism. Brilliant direction keeps the pacing taut, blending suspense, pulsepounding action, and surprisingly sharp comedy lines seamlessly. The acting feels refreshingly authentic, grounding the fantastical elements in genuine emotion. Breathtaking scenery-towering fjords and misty mountains elevates every frame into a feast for the eyes. The main plot is the weakest link, though it’s a fresh take for the fantasy genre and holds its own. It doesn’t quite match the excellence of the other elements, but that doesn’t detract from the overall thrill. I really liked it, highly recommend for fans of creature features!

Low-key just another version of Godzilla. Tried to be inspirational, wasn't. Always a back and forth between "do it!" "Don't do it!". Felt very rushed and unfinished. Anyways, to clean my eyes, I'm gonna watch Sean Combs The Reckoning to wash my eyes.

Durante a construção de um túnel nas montanhas da Noruega, uma explosão desperta um troll que hibernava. O governo monta um comitê de crise para identificar e deter a criatura. O filme é uma espécie de "Godzilla norueguês": enquanto o monstro japonês simboliza a ameaça atômica, aqui o troll é ligado à natureza, capaz até de se camuflar como montanha. Os efeitos visuais impressionam e a interação da criatura com o ambiente é excelente. Já o roteiro não traz novidades, repetindo fórmulas dos filmes americanos de kaiju: o protagonismo do monstro é diluído em personagens humanos estereotipados e pouco interessantes. Diferente das produções japonesas, que equilibram bem monstros e protagonistas, Troll da Montanha falha nesse aspecto. Há referências ecológicas, menção a Greta Thunberg e críticas à Igreja Católica, mas nada aprofundado. Ainda assim, diverte pelo espetáculo visual e pela força da criatura.
