It's horrifying, it's brutal, it's sickening, and it makes you go to bed feeling...how can I say it...not right in the head. The opening scene would make even the most desensitized horror fans lose their lunch. And I have seen some messed up movies. I can give it credit for being historically accurate, so it might be unfair to label it "cheap exploitation." However, aside from the most graphic violence I have ever seen on screen, this film offers very little in terms of emotional connection or suspense. It doesn't even give you time to process the cruelty. It puts it right in your face the minute the film starts rolling. If you enjoyed A Serbian Film, you might enjoy Trauma. But it's definitely one I probably won't watch again.
