So many people on here have horrible taste, don't know good writing or are paid for their reviews, because anything over 3 stars makes no sense for this junk. See more Christian R @RT90248046 1d 5.8/10 The movie has a lot of great things going for it: A stronger, more interesting and involved plot with higher stakes, a more serious tone, an interesting set of twist villain characters and larger action. On the other hand, it also has the most boring/unlikable Sam relationship storyline in the series, the big Chicago war climax focuses very little on the title characters and the plot itself requires numerous retcons and asinine story telling leaps to justify itself. DOTM feels like the perfect epilogue to the Transformers saga as it builds upon the previous two entries to deliver a show stopping finale that puts everything on the line. 2011 was one of the peaks of Transformers in popular culture with everything for the brand and Hasbro being at fearsome heights. This was a movie with a vast toyline not unlike the previous one that DOMINATED store shelves and as the first film in the franchise to cross a billion at the boxoffice it certainly gave the team at Paramount some ideas about the direction of the future of the franchise most of which they rode into the pavement a little over half a decade later. Dark Of The Moon should have been the last and had it been both Bay and Paramount would have ended it on a high note that was only topped by The Avengers in the following year.
