In this new film, Jack Ryan is reluctantly thrust back into the world of espionage when an international covert mission unravels a deadly conspiracy, forcing him to confront a rogue black-ops unit, and the clock is ticking. Operating in real time with lives on the line and the threat escalating at every turn, Jack reunites with battle-tested CIA operative Mike November (Michael Kelly) and former CIA boss James Greer (Wendell Pierce), their combined experience the only edge they have against an enemy who knows their every move. Backed by an unlikely new partner -- razor-sharp MI6 officer Emma Marlowe (Sienna Miller) -- Jack and the team navigate a treacherous web of betrayal, facing a past they thought was long put to rest -- making this the most personal, high-stakes mission any of them have ever faced.

Krasinski executive produced and co-wrote the screenplay but doesn’t seem to have been very interested in character development or meaningful dialogue. Go to Full Review

[Krasinski] makes you care whether Ryan can get out of pickle after pickle, enough to make you wish there will be another Ryan standalone film in the future. Go to Full Review

John Krasinski can do anything, except turn the livewire CIA operative he played for four TV seasons into something other than a pale shadow of his former self trying to pass muster in an ill-conceived two-hour movie. Go to Full Review

The largely entertaining affair marches to a peppier beat than the show, which can become bogged down despite its seasons being relatively short in terms of episodes. Go to Full Review

I’m a sucker for both John Krasinski and Wendell Pierce, but there’s no escaping the by-the-numbers blah-ness of Jack Ryan: Ghost War. Go to Full Review

Greg H. @lisgre 7h Absolutely the worst Jack Ryan movie or tv show ever. The beginning is so convoluted that it became impossible to follow. There was no plot. There was constant preaching about the need for the CIA and the need for covert intel which I think most people understand. Very disappointing. See more Cash A @RT43804345 10h A bit lackluster compared to earlier shows. See more David D @RT60547085 23h No idea why anyone thought it was a good idea to make this movie, 8 years after the end of the series. Worst storyline ever. Totally unintelligible. It plays around some imaginary criminals in Dubai, which the whole world knows by now is a favorite hide-out for real live criminals, so no kudos from me for that either, despite nice pictures. John Krasinski I like in other movies where he can play more amusing characters, but his version of Jack Ryan seems to feel lost with himself most of the time. Only plusses seem to be Sienna Miller as a rough but attractive MI6 operative and Max Beesley as a good bad guy with too little screen time. The storyline revolves around former secret agents who have gone rogue and are killing everyone and everything, to convince the world what a dangerous place it is. Their identity and operations plans are stored offline in a Dubai skyscraper... why, nobody knows. Except a screenwriter who thought he was original but lost logic along the way.. See more Rockin F @RT80467262 1d Clumsy, not well thought plot is all over the place. See more Henry D @Henry_Domke 1d Derivative and weak. The plot was overly complicated and often confusing, without enough payoff to justify the effort. The actors didn’t have the gravitas their roles required, and never seemed fully convincing. The thunderous, percussive soundtrack tried to create tension, but mostly felt heavy-handed and unhelpful. Still, it had big-budget location shooting and some beautiful shots of Dubai. See more Dave D. @RT92240171 1d A bit clumsy in parts but overall a entertaining movie. See more Read all reviews
