Nycele B 13 hrs ago This movie had the unique ability to bring tears to my eyes — first from laughing so hard at the jokes, to then being moved by truly heartfelt, tender moments between and among the characters. The writing is magnificent — beautifully capturing the essence of what it means to be a kid of this age while also offering up unique and hilarious dialogue. The kid ensemble really works, and it’s so nice to see Johnny Knoxville in this different kind of role. So great to get to see it in the theatre! Go now! See more jesse v 1 day ago the main character has a very similar personality to diary of a wimpy kid, but with more raunchy. unfortunately the parents are written immaturely, the editing is paced very weirdly with many time skips. Let's just say, the kid actors are excellent, but the script needed less political and adult jokes. BIZARRELY this is the THIRD movie in a row this year for the past 3 months featuring kids at a camp, and the SIXTH featuring a group of people hiking through the forest. And the chubby kid is jonah hill junior for anyone asking, especially with his comedy skit at the very end. Also there's no reason why Knoxville only communicates to the main kid and not the rest. And why Knoxville felt the need to save the kid towards the end and not when kids took a boat across the lake. There was AN OUNCE of cheerful good writing once we saw the main kid at school, as if it was tacked on first or last in production. See more Couchscreener 2 days ago I loved this movie — I thought it was heartfelt and hilarious. I figured it would be a little raunchy, and thought from the trailer it was going to be a Jackass goes to summer camp, but it has a real emotional core that blended really well with smart, funny dialogue. I also think anyone who pauses too much on kids using profanity either hasnt spent much time around kids in this cohort, or forgot what it was like to be 13, or both.
