Some good humor mixed in and just enough suspense and weirdness to keep things moving along. Sometimes I forget it exists, then I see it pop up and remember how great it is. It's surprisingly funny, genuinely creepy, and a solid found footage movie. Tyler could be annoying to some, but I freaking love him. He's hilarious. The acting is great across the board. The grandparents absolutely freak me out no matter how many times I watch this. Nana walking around at night and crawling under the deck is nightmare fuel. The scene where Nana asks Becca to get inside the oven is hilarious and uncomfortable at the same time. The M. Night twist completely caught me off guard on my first viewing and is still a doozy. I love Becca's passion for filmmaking, and the heartfelt moments about their dad leaving add real emotion. It does have the classic "Hey kids, don't go in the basement" moment, but I can forgive that. I just love this movie. Either way, absolute trash of a movie. One of the worst movies i watched ever, and definitely worst one in 10 years. You can’t even determine genre. Comedy? Not funny enough. Horror? Too stupid and bizarre. AND not correct bizarre.. its total waste of time. This movie should’ve had someone smart enough to stop this during the first ever startup meeting.
