It’s probably somewhat too stately. But it is an odd, mostly compelling yarn, and acted with gusto and shot with real physical commitment to the wide open spaces and raw chill of the elements.

The movie constantly asks, “Are the good guys really all that good?” Again, this isn’t necessarily an original concept for the Western genre, but director Elliott Lester handles the idea with grace and delicacy that make the question feel genuine.

I will say, the trailer made the film seem like it would have more high octane action, but whats in the trailer in terms of action is in the movie and nothing more. But, the writing, acting and cinematography made up for it. My wife and I really enjoyed the film, so much I actually want to read the book now.

Not sure why theres a lack of promotion for this movie. I didnt even know it was coming out. I saw it tonight and Im glad I did because its an exceptional film. The whole cast did great. Peter Dink stood out and really nailed this roll.

It wasn't as action packed as the trailer depicted but it was still a good film. I would say the acting is what made this movie so successful, everyone did an amazing job at they're roles it didn't feel lazy or rushed. But I will say that Lewis, though it was good to see her push out of her comfort zone and take on such an ambitious role I wasn't 100% pleased with the delivery, she didn't sound like a man she sounded like a female acting like a man so it wasn't that accurate for me. But as always I praise Dinklage in EVERY role he plays because he embodies his characters to the T. So overall good film very interesting and id watch again for sure.
