Gunn W @RT41655697 08/01/2023 It's probably a 3-star movie, but since it's an Indie film, I'll give them an extra half star for writing a decent script and good acting. It was Russian dubbed in English, but that didn't seem to have any impact on the movie itself. The movie is exactly what you would expect, there's a 'Mermaid' (although, deadly, so maybe more like Greek Mythology Sirens or stories from other cultures) who lives in the 'Lake'. Hence; "Mermaid Lake of the Dead". Also like the Sirens, she gets men to fall in love with her - then destroys their lives. (Some of you may call this an ex-wife.. LOL) but seriously, she's desperate for a man to love her! And once she gets her clutches on a man, apparently, now she can live in any water? Maybe? Can she live like in a fish tank? I doubt it..... As with all other scary movies, they possess some people, maybe kill a few (maybe just keep them for later? Who knows??) and eventually there is some crazy ritual that will stop the 'Mermaid'. Or does it?? hummm.... I'd recommend a watch on a rainy Sunday if you just want to chill out and watch something not too heavy! See more Read all reviews
