I'm a simple guy who likes high stakes and a gripping story, and this film absolutely delivered on every level. The story follows Ry (Maia Reficco), a girl fighting severe epilepsy who goes to Mallorca with her mother (Eva Longoria) to truly live life rather than play the victim. The real grit comes in when she connects with Julián (Fernando Lindez), a local fisherman dealing with his own heavy battles as corporate developers try to crush his family's livelihood. Director Carlson Young beautifully balances the aggressive, stunning landscapes with raw, honest tension that hooks you from start to finish. If you want a powerful survival story about standing your ground, do yourself a favor and stream this right now on Amazon Prime Video—it easily earns my first-ever five-star rating. To make matters worse, the performances of the two leads are frankly poor, and their supposedly romantic relationship lacks both chemistry and credibility. An ambitious but ultimately hollow attempt that mistakes provocation for depth and length for substance. The characters are alright at most. Broo the Julian looks like Masan Thame lol and the girl is okay but I do like her twist of how she's dying and shiiii and the end is wholesome of course like almost every rom-con but it's kinda slow ish boring at times and somtimes they kinda overreacting some scenes but either then that I'm not watching this movke ever again 😭🤞🏽 See more Read all reviews
