Steven C @RT14071841 3h How this movie has such a low rating is criminal. If you were born in the 80’s this movie was a bedrock in your movie collection. Original storyline, insane cast. It’s a comfort watch that doesn’t need a reason to watch, you just put it on and laugh and even the coolest of teenagers will end up sitting down with their uncool parents and watching the whole movie. I’m happy to share it with my kids. I’m convinced anybody who rates this low is too young or too old to appreciate 90’s cinema. It was the golden age of family films. Like “Home Alone” or “Hocus Pocus” only you dont have to just watch it during the holidays. This is a solid movie, to hate on this classic is a red flag. While it tries to bring the classic stone-age world to life in live-action, the result feels more like style over substance, with the humor and heart often getting lost in translation. Compared to the classic 60s series, it lacks the same effortless wit, warmth, and clever writing that made the characters so iconic. The world feels recreated, but not fully lived in, and much of the charm is replaced with broad comedy that doesn’t always land. There are a few entertaining moments and the effort is visible, but overall it feels underwhelming and inconsistent. I still much prefer the original animated series. For me, it’s a 3/10.
