Hey Guys M @RT10297451 2h Leatherface himself is a boring, generically-performed non-factor. By the time the first 55 minutes are done, scarce little is accomplished, so much so that the fact that the back end is fine is nearly a non-factor. Gore is nothing special by contemporary standards. Movie takes 45 minutes to get to the action. The Full Metal Jacket guy could have contributed a solid performance if he wanted to try. No characters have any redeeming qualities. Endless films have achieved darker atmospheres. Can't verbally describe how much I disliked this. 105 minutes felt like 3 hours. See more Igor D @RT91167160 Jul 12 Best remake of the 2000s!!! The wide shots of the house are one of the most foreboding shots of a property I've ever seen in a film. Its grey and black stained walls are aged by time and the colour grading choices of the film give a greyscale effect that gives every scene an extremely grim atmosphere, it really stands out as a place you do not want to visit. Inside the house is even worse. You can really tell the set design was influenced by Ed Gien’s house. Farm animals and their droppings litter the rooms floors, bottles and mason jars of fluids containing unrecognisable but fleshy looking items are piled on shelves and desks. The Characters are truly cruel, unhinged and constantly make you feel so unsafe. They have those sort of dark and twisted southern american personas that are completely psychotic. Every member of the family seems completely indifferent to the grotesque violence that surrounds them. Scared me for weeks after watching it as a kid.
