There is also a bourgeois lady who accompanies her through the streets without ceasing to be bourgeois and a frivolous mother who wants to recover her baby but doesn't care much about her. Absurd? Not much, if we embrace the post modern ethos that still dominate the arts and humanities. Then, aberrant behavior might suddenly appear normal. See more Chris F @RT52347836 09/06/2023 A very odd, very complicated film. It struggles a bit to wrap up all its ideas and thoughts together. The film can be messy and disjointed. But at the same time, I don't feel like that was a concern. Maybe the disjointed nature serves the unclean, unfixed characters. Unfortunately, however, because the show is so disjointed, it comes off as a bit muddled and confused. It has these real core ideas that it wants to express, but it's as if it gets confused along the way on how to express them. It focuses on this idea of being all alone, and struggling, while eventually finding family; it also has these philosophical ideas such as gravity and people's place in the world; it also has these ideas of femininity and motherhood, and how it's not as clean and clear-cut as many people play it off to be. Yet, because the film tries to express all things things at once, it never felt like any of them landed. This is compounded by the nature of storytelling itself, where there has to be a beginning, middle, and end. It's the end where everything struggles to wrap up. Just like a baby's room, with their toys scattered everywhere, it was a lot of fun for them in the moment, but now you're left with the mess to clean up as the parent, and the parents of this film just didn't really know where everything belonged. Is that a bad thing? No, I think the film is quite good. And it almost deserves even higher praise for Page's phenomenal acting, which shines like a beacon in many scenes. But ultimately, a great actor can fixed a funky script. It's a good, intimate, grungy movie. And it's fine for what it is. But it can never really escape itself and transcend into something more. I was drawn into the relationship between the young girl and the boyfriends mother..... such a lot going on. The movie had a lot of great stories that were well done and I even ended up liking the police detective that was after Tallulah. I didn't give 5 stars as I was let kind of wondering was going on with the end and the floating women etc.......I think I get that was a lost soul and finally reached out and came down to earth but it was a little to out there.......great movie ......watch it.
