I don’t knowing it was the accents or what but with this cast (minus the one who was supposed to be Russian) had some powerhouse actors. Not sure why they didn’t hire a Russian actor to play the Russian. The irrational xenophobia was also hard to watch. It could have been a better movie. Mainly, it is a common romantic movie ambiented in the past, but it has some interesting aspects, specially the acting of Rachel Weisz. See more Oct 13, 2018 This is probably one of the worst movies I've seen and it puzzles me why any one would rave about it. Seriously, I put my glasses on because I had to make sure Yanko wasn't Tommy Wissau. It had a terrible plot acted so poorly it was laughable (except for Ian McLellan And Kathy Bates). Actually the depth of those two made the rest of the acting look absurd in comparison. I found nothing remarkable about the score, despite the comments I've seen on here (which must be by shills or loons). Overall, don't watch this unless you need a break from good book adaptations to gain healthy appreciation for good writing, acting and directing.
