Victor O 06/07/2023 Earlier on, I saw a movie that presented itself as a Fast and the Furious knockoff, it turns out it was just a crime drama with only one race scene and maybe a testing run on a racetrack. This, on the other hand, is a Fast and the Furious knockoff but tried to capitalize on the movie Speed Racer by the Wachowskis. Weird. Johnny is an ex-convict on parole for reckless driving that led to the death of one man and the crippling of another. Under the eyes of a corrupt parole officer, Johnny balances life as an auto parts employee, illegal street racer, and community service at a clinic. All these hats lead him to new friends, old foes, and former victims as he does his best to rehabilitate himself with so many pulls to darkness and light. This was a little slow and boring at first, but it developed into a decent drama. Contrived at times and I had to admit I was more interested in the hot girls at the races than the story, but this was a decent watch. The audio and visual effects were breathtaking. Move over Paul Walker, Clint Browning gives a stellar performance as Johnny Wayne, felony street racer. Clearly a new American classic.
