A charming, witty, passionate romantic drama about a love transcending space and time, Somewhere In Time is an old-fashioned film in the best sense of that term. Go to Full Review

It was savaged by critics and performed poorly at the box office. Yet according to Andrew Lloyd Webber, love never dies, and apparently neither does Somewhere in Time. Go to Full Review

Silly and tepid. But on the other hand, you may never laugh harder at a narrative circumstance involving a penny than you will here. Go to Full Review

Karin F @RT12729041 Jul 17 Somewhere in Time is, for me, one of the most undervalued films ever made. On the surface it's a love story but underneath it explores deeper themes about destiny and most importantly the value and worth of women in a world that often tries to define them by someone else's expectations. The performances from Christopher Reeve and Jane Seymour are simply perfect. Their chemistry feels completely genuine and there's one particular moment that has always stayed with me. The portrait photography scene - Jane Seymour gives the most beautiful smile. To me, it almost betrays her real feelings at the time, as though she was genuinely falling for her co-star. Whether that's true or simply the brilliance of her acting, it creates one of the most touching romantic performances I've ever seen. For me, this movie sits alongside The Ghost and Mrs. Muir and Wuthering Heights as one of the greatest romantic films ever made. It's haunting, leaving you thinking about it long after the credits roll. See more Adam G @Adam71 Apr 17 Simple enjoyment. Very sweet and romantic. I saw it as a kid in the 80s and something about it struck me at the time (probably the time travel aspect). I’m glad to have seen it again at last in 2026! There are some negatives but they are not really worth mentioning. Actually now that I think about it, Jane Seymour’s beauty may be the reason it stuck with me! Although I don't think this film is particularly well made, I consider it a guilty pleasure. I don't think it's good for 2 reasons. 1. The "science" and mechanism behind the time travel aspect of the plot is completely ludicrous. 2. Christopher Reeve. He was great in the first Superman movie but, IMO, he's just not a good actor. I think he comes off as goofy. Now, the reason I rewatch it and consider it a guilty pleasure is...Jane Seymour! She is elegance defined! A terrific actress and completely lovely! The portrait of her that Reeve's character is obsessed with is worth obsessing over. If anyone was worth all the trouble to go back in time to meet, it's her! Did I mention that she's LOVELY! But if you are looking for a movie to watch curled up in your couch on a lazy afternoon, perhaps with your special one, a movie that leaves you in a romantic, dreamy, but melancholic mood, you've hit the jackpot. See more Marcelo P @MarceloPortilio Feb 8 É um filme de amor. O tipo de amor predestinado, forte e inabalável. É para corações românticos e nem sempre agrada a todos os públicos. Para mim, o filme é lindo, a fotografia é linda, o enredo é envolvente e os atores são muito talentosos. But it's still special, because it's got a young Christopher Reeve and Jane Seymour. Overall, I liked it. It's a pretty decent romance story for sci-fi writer Richard Matheson.
