After losing his job and wife, and spending time in a mental institution, Pat Solatano winds up living with his parents. A very charming and intense rom-com drama about a Bipolar romance. It's not perfect representation, but it was a great steppingstone for portraying mentally illness with these complex characters and their intense emotions. We get some crazy high energy funny performances by Bradley Cooper and Jennifer Lawrence, as they both share great chemistry and find an abrasive, but empathetic understanding of each other. Special props to Jennifer Lawrence. Robert DeNiro is fantastic as the dad with OCD. Chris Tucker is very funny and sweet. The first act is pretty rough, but it gradually turns into a lighter romantic comedy. The movie is very funny and has great naturalistic dialogue. I loved the laidback guitar soundtrack. The climax is resolved in a very heartwarming and funny manner that feels true to the characters without feeling too unrealistic. I wish the movie portrayed the depressive side of the bipolar disorder. But it's still a great drama that morphs into a very unique rom-com.

One of my favorite movies. It's sooo funny, and that's why I liked it. The fact that Bradley cooper mentions Metallica is an instant 5/5. But of course you would only understand and appreciate the reference if you are cultured.
